Love the design but my kit had several issues, one of which was probably intentional in manufacturing:
1. My tube was a bit crushed and flattened near the fin slots to the point that the spiral was cracked pretty badly
2. The fin slots were cut fairly long and were therefore less supportive
3. The decals were not well cut and I ended up tearing one of the fin decals as a result. Fortunately Estes has great customer service and is sending me a replacement decal.
I think the strakes look very cool and I love this nose cone design from, hence why I've also built a Xtreme and why my next Estes build will be the Centuri.

Great rocket. I flew it several times with the stock version on B and C motors, and it flew high and straight. I modified mine for higher performance now so it flies even higher and faster!
Mods: Removed the engine mount and retainer, repurposed a centering ring for an engine block, and used a pair of pliers to bend the engine hook to better fit the newer config. replaced the parachute with 2 streamers, so it now packs much better and comes down a little faster. filed down the tabs on the fins from the inside, allowing the body tube to act as a 24mm engine mount. instead of A8, B4 , B6, C5, and C6 motors, it now runs on C11, D12, and E12. I repainted it and sprayed some glossy ceramic sealer on it to give it a nice shine. first modified flight I did C11, and it went perfectly, so I tried a D12 and it went equally well. the E12 kept it out of sight for quite while, and I was grateful to have a huge park as my launch site so I was able to recover it.
overall, great rocket stock and for modding! highly recommend.
