Overview

A Limited Edition Rocket Built for a Major Selling Moment

The Liberty Star™ gives retailers a timely, eye-catching product tied directly to America’s 250th anniversary and the patriotic shopping season surrounding the 4th of July. Its bold red, white, and blue deco scheme makes it easy to merchandise, easy for customers to understand, and easy to connect with the kind of summer celebrations that bring families into stores looking for memorable activities.

As a limited edition Estes release, the Liberty Star has a built-in sense of collectibility and urgency. Customers are not just buying another model rocket. They are buying a commemorative rocket created for a milestone anniversary, which gives retailers a strong seasonal story to feature in-store, online, and alongside other launch-day essentials.

Beginner-Friendly Appeal for a Broad Customer Base

The Liberty Star is designed for beginner rocketeers, making it a strong fit for first-time customers, gift buyers, families, and casual shoppers who may be drawn in by the patriotic theme. Assembly takes under 10 minutes, so it offers an approachable entry point into model rocketry without requiring a complicated build.

Molded plastic fins help simplify the experience for new flyers while giving the finished rocket a clean, durable appearance. That ease of use can help reduce hesitation at the point of purchase, especially for customers who want something exciting for a holiday weekend, family gathering, or first launch.

Strong Shelf Presence and Launch-Day Performance

At 23.9 inches long with a 1.64 inch diameter body, the Liberty Star has the size and visual impact to stand out on the shelf. The patriotic color scheme creates instant recognition, while the limited edition positioning gives staff a simple and compelling product story to share with customers.

Recommended for C11-5 and D12-5 engines, the Liberty Star can reach projected altitudes up to 920 feet. That performance gives customers the kind of exciting liftoff they expect from Estes, while the 15 inch parachute recovery system helps bring the rocket safely back for repeat launch-day fun.

A Seasonal Add-On Opportunity

The Liberty Star also creates natural attachment opportunities for launch supplies, including compatible engines, starters, recovery wadding, and launch systems. For customers who are new to model rocketry, retailers can build a complete launch solution around the rocket, helping increase basket size while giving shoppers everything they need for a successful first flight.

For launch, customers will need either the Porta-Pad II or Porta-Pad E Launch Pad with the required 3/16 inch Two-Piece MAXI™ Launch Rod. Engines, starters, recovery wadding, and launch supplies are sold separately.

Stock It Before the Celebration Hits Its Peak

The Liberty Star is made for a specific moment in history, which makes timing especially important. Retailers who bring it in early can feature it ahead of 4th of July traffic, America’s 250th anniversary interest, and the seasonal demand for hands-on family activities.

With limited quantities available, the Liberty Star gives retailers a compelling reason to act now. It is collectible, patriotic, beginner-friendly, and built to fly, making it a standout addition for hobby shops, toy retailers, museum stores, gift shops, and any retailer looking to offer customers something memorable for America’s 250th celebration.

Liberty Star: A quick build

The Liberty Star kit was a quick, easy build. Everything fit well. My only comment is that the decals need a white backing or undercoat as they are difficult to see on the blue body tube.

Star Spangled Rocket’s Red Glare

A great idea to commemorate America’s 250th. Also nice that it is a beginner rocket so more people can enjoy it, yet at the same time it’s larger, and using the 24mm engines makes for a more impressive flight than your normal beginner rocket. It was fun to build and fly on a C11-5 engine. I cut a spill hole in the chute and it came down controlled and steady. I hope to have it around awhile as a keepsake, but plan to fly it more, including with the D12-5 engines on the right day. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the shock cord, which comes pre-attached had a significant cut in it and probably would’ve broken upon ejection. I noticed it late in the assembly process because the cut was down in the body tube. I just cut it off as far back as I could by pulling it through the bottom of the rocket, and using the remaining cord, made a traditional paper mount with wood glue. It was not a huge deal and worked fine, I’m just glad I noticed it. I realize things slip through the cracks sometimes. I started building Estes rockets over 50 years ago and recently got the bug again. Have purchased about 12 in the past couple of months for me or my grandson and am having a blast with them again.

Great set up for my 10 year old grandson

Great set up for my 10 year old grandson. We launched on the 4th of July. Great celebration. Easy to build for him. Reminds me of my childhood. Very fond memories.
