I have always loved the Big Bertha kit! It's big for a rocket of the time it was originally created, super easy to build, with a realistic slow liftoff, great flight, and cool parachute recovery. It was always a crowd favorite back when I was putting on model rocket demonstrations for Estes in the '80s. The Super Big Bertha, Boosted Bertha, and the Baby Bertha are great as well, satisfying many needs for size, ease of construction and performance. The new Mini Bertha is actually the second version of this kit. The original was made like the regular Big Bertha, but used the BT-20 body tube and mini engines. It was as cool as the original. This new one though, suffers the same problems as the Mini Alpha. It looks great, but has the same fins as the Mini Alpha and the same stickers instead of regular decals. Easy-peasy to build, flies fine, but I still glued the fins on so that they don't fall off when I remove the engine retainer ring to insert an engine for flight. This Bertha is fine for restricted area flying (like a school baseball diamond), and requires almost no skill to assemble. Streamer recovery is less entertaining than parachute, but will bring the rocket back closer to the launch pad. It also falls faster than a parachute, so be sure to fly on grass, not pavement to avoid dmage on landing.
